C&LRKEN: Cadastre and land registry

The purpose of the Cadastre and Land Registry Knowledge Exchange Network is to help our members to meet user’s needs for cadastral information at both National and European level.

Our mission and objectives are to:

  • maintain a network of cadastral and land registry experts;
  • provide the European platform for networking and sharing best practice;
  • follow the development of relevant technologies and practices;
  • support EuroGeographics’ policy towards European data interoperability;
  • promote our member’s experiences and expertise;
  • raise awareness of the importance of cadastre and land registry for economic activity and social development;
  • publish reports on issues in the field of land administration.

We focus on the role of cadastre (documenting the property objects) and land registry (documenting legal rights in properties) and investigate developments that affect these fields. We do not work on land-consolidation, valuation or land-use planning.

Our 2013 workplan

  • Run the first two, of a series of workshops on the theme ‘How to meet user’s needs for appropriate cadastral information’’.
    • The first workshop will be in Riga on 7th May. More details for members in ‘Events’.
    • The second will be organised for Q3
  • Raise awareness of the contribution of cadastre and land registry to economic recovery, sustainable development and other social issues.

The C&LR KEN experts have produced a number of reports, which are available in Public reports.

The C&LR KEN is chaired by Julius Ernst from BEV Austria
