EmKEN: Emergency Mapping

This knowledge exchange network met for the first time in October 2012. It has the following Terms of reference.

To ensure members are able to benefit from the knowledge and experience of others in:

a. the national arrangements for providing access to reference data for National Civil Protection Organisations and emergency responders;

b. understanding users requirements for data and services and the terms for ensuring an efficient emergency mapping process in the country and in GMES Initial Operation Emergency Management System (GIO EMS)

c. finding the simplest, sustainable and harmonised way of arranging access to national reference data for emergency mapping purpose.

d. Examining the Commission’s priorities and demands for reference data to be arranged for GIO EMS, including data policy issues.
