RISE
- Reference Information Specifications for Europe (RISE),
funded by the 6th Framework Programme , is a core
project under EuroSpec. It addresses more specifically
the GMES data harmonisation action line, and relates also
to the INSPIRE implementation rules. |
EuroGeoNames
(EGN) is a vision of a distributed multi-lingual geographical
names data network for Europe.
It will ultimately be a multi-lingual Internet service
linking official geographical names sources across Europe.
Access will be provided equally for all official European

The State Boundaries of Europe
vision and long term goal is to compile a multipurpose
State Boundaries of Europe Dataset, meant to be the “definitive”
description of the national boundaries of European countries. |
| The Pricing
& Licensing project
objectives are to define and agree between all members
of EuroGeographics on guidelines for a common Data Policy
which would be applicable within EuroGeographics projects
and which would provide a good reference for harmonising
the national data policies across Europe. |

Metadata
is the prerequisite for data discovery and access and
is an important part for an operational ESDI. EuroGeographics
has developed a metadata portal called EuroMapFinder
for geographic information
in Europe. |
