Network Services workshop 5th - 6th February Presentations

The INSPIRE directive was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 25th April 2007. The MS have until the 15th May 2009 to comply with the directive which creates a legal framework for establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community.

INSPIRE will be implemented through agreement on 'Implementing Rules' for metadata, data specifications (interoperability), network services, data sharing and monitoring and reporting. The scope and timing of these implementing rules are described in the directive and the INSPIRE Work Programme. The draft Implementing Rule on metadata is already available and others are expected to be released for review during  2007.
