Directive 2003/98/EC on the re-use of Public Sector Information (PSI) entered into force on 31/12/2003. The directive established a minimum set of rules governing the commercial and non-commercial exploitation of existing information held by the public sector, including geographic information. Member States must comply with the directive by 1st July 2005.
