           EuroRegionalMap and the ESDIN Project

Aug 08:

The EuroRegionalMap project will now be deeply corelated with the eContent+ project ESDIN cofunded by the European Commission.

The ESDIN project aim to build a European Spatial Data Infrastructure (ESDI) on the National Spatial Data Infrastructures in Member States, for which INSPIRE is the legal instrument, is currently in development. This project will further this by focusing on helping Member States, candidate countries and EFTA States prepare their data for INSPIRE Annex I themes and improve access to them.

In that framework, the EuroRegionalMap data specifications and data model will be adapted to the INSPIRE data specifications and will serve as testbed for the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive.

The ESDIN project will start the 1 September 2008.

jan. 07:

Eurostat signed contract for EuroRegionalMap

In the Autumn of 2006, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Commission and one of our primary target customers, has issued an open call for tender for the supply of GIS reference (mid-scale topographic) data. EuroGeographics responded to this tender by offering its reference dataset EuroRegionalMap.

The very good news is that we have won this tender! As a result, Eurostat and EuroGeographics signed a contract for a total of 4 years, being renewed every year.

ERM & EGM at the ESRI International User Conference 2007

The paper on EuroRegionalMap and EuroGlobalMap - A Technical Challenge Building European Spatial reference Data has been selected for presentation at the International User Conference of june 2007.

Nov. 06:

EuroRegionalMap and EuroGlobalMap have been presented at the 21st European Conference For Esri Users, the 6-8 november in Athens at the paper sessions.

The topic is: EuroRegionalMap and EuroGlobalMap - A Technical Challenge Building European Spatial reference Data

Sept. 06:

A revised POSTER illustrating the ARCGIS EuroRegionalMap DATA MODEL has been created by the ESRI REDLANDS team and has been distributed at the EuroGeographics General Assembly in Amsterdam.

The EuroRegionalMap data model and production line has been implemented into the Mapping Agency solution of PLTS ( Production Line ToolSet) and is available for the version 9.1.

Sep 07:

The EuroRegionalMap Specification and Data Catalogue  has been registered as reference material to participate in Specification Development process (scenario 2), that will be handled by the Thematic Working Groups on Data Specifications.

Sept 06:

The EuroRegionalMap Specification and Data Catalogue is among the reference material, which has been particularly used in the development of the draft document on the Generic Conceptual Model of the INSPIRE Data Specifications.
