EFGS 2010 Conference is focused on linking Census 2010/11 round results with spatial grids and share the work on GEOSTAT project "Representing Census data in a European population grid". Integrating statistics variables into one harmonized gridded dataset is challenging. Particularly, harmonized gridded population datasets should be useful for multipurpose spatial analysis in cross border situations and at the same time support any policy or decision making process in environmental or infrastructure planning, in sustainable development or business in many economic sectors.

Additionally, the sound concept for dissemination of European gridded statistic variables dataset is needed. Moreover, the emerging needs for availability of gridded population dataset not only at the European level but also in the global level needs the action from geostatisticians around the globe. We need new GIS technologies, paradigms and concepts for meeting these demands. Conference will seek to find answers for these challenges and provoke the discussion among national statistical institutions, academia and other users.

If you want to contribute to this interesting topic, don't hesitate and send the title and short description of your paper to Diana Makarenko, don't miss the deadline -for abstract so as for registration 30th July 2010!

Participation is limited up to 60 persons. The priority will be given for GIS professionals from NSI and partner institutions.
