The 3D-world is depicted in various geo-platforms like on Google Earth™, Microsoft Virtual Earth™ and ESRI ArcGlobe™. It is expected that by 2015, numerous cities, countries-landscapes, and our world in general will offer 3D models for multiple purposes; The “Islands” have a unique position in the 3D virtual world.
The 3D-Islands workshop promotes & addresses the state of art in webGIS technologies & virtual geographics for the production of 3D models tailored to the endeavours of the islands
