General Assembly 2012 successfully started!

More than 140 delegates, directors general, their advisors, speakers and guests from more than 40 countries arrived yesterday to Helsinki and attended the opening of the EuroGeographics 2012 General Assembly at the Welcome reception.

Today, during the first conference day Mr Arvo Kokkonen gave the opening speech and after the greetings of the Secretary State Mr. Risto Artjoki from the Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry, the Secretary General and Executive Director Mr. Dave Lovell made the Introduction to the General Assembly. 

The first keynote speech of the General Assembly was given by an esteemed speaker, Mr. Esko Aho, the Executive Vice President of Nokia and former Prime Minister of Finland and brought a lot of challenging ideas and topics for discussion.
